Syncroness conducted an engineering design review of a UAV that experienced failures during drone flights. As a first step, the engineers identified subsystems that could be improved to make the drone more reliable.
The team upgraded the electromechanical interface assembly by redesigning the battery connectors to a machined aluminum equivalent. They also updated the payload interface module, which decreased the overall weight of the drone without increasing part manufacturing cost. These redesigns enabled the customer to quickly manufacture new parts, at lower cost. Syncroness engineers documented the drone redesign in preparation to meet FAA Type Certification for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operation.
