Syncroness was tasked with modifying the wearable heart monitor design for an existing wearable ECG data recorder to extend its battery life from 24 hours to 7 days. Additional requirements included adding the capability to perform real-time analysis on the ECG waveform to detect various kinds of cardiac events. It was necessary to optimize firmware efficiency to preserve power, as the batteries and hardware had little room for change.
