The Actall Crisis Controller is a security management system. This monitoring system tracks a large network of sensors and alarm transmitters. It provides a single display which can show what alarm has been triggered, where the alarm is located, and can automatically page security or safety personal to deal with the alarm. The system has been used in many applications including and detention facilities, state capitals and courts, senior living and retirement communities, manufacturing facilities and many more. Being a wireless system also makes installation possible in almost any situation.

Actall Security Products desired changes to their existing Crisis Controller software in order to allow a more customizable and user friendly interface. Syncroness was asked to help make several major changes to the Graphic User Interface and to implement many new features to achieve these goals. 

The main focus of these changes involved creating a monitoring screen which displays the most critical information in a easily identifiable manner. All less critical information is also visible, but kept in a separate window to keep from distracting the user.  A configuration window was also created to allow the customization of the system’s response to each type of alarm that occurs. Changes were also made to the serial communication protocol  to allow 3rd party devices to more easily interact with the core system.

The project involved graphic design coding in C#. Reading through and understanding existing code to identify where changes needed to be implemented. Provided GUI mock-ups of the new windows to be created. Full implementation and testing of the new features and design.
